COACH'S GUIDE

General Information

As a courtesy and due to consistent errors, especially made by parents, we created this Coach’s Guide to avoid disqualifications and encourage all Coaches to help improve the Competition Team. One of our missions at PRIDE BJJ is to help academies to sign up more students, spreading BJJ with great quality. The event is a good opportunity to make friends, enjoy the atmosphere, manage our emotions and is also a networking opportunity, and a chance to exchange experiences. We work hard to offer one of the best tournaments before, during and after the event day. During the event Black Belts coaches have FREE access to our VIP Room with coffee, snacks and refreshments. Remember, you are one of the most important people for us and your students.

  1. Spread the word… If you want to be good, train. If you want to be very good, Compete! But realize that we prepare Jiu Jitsu practitioners for life and most of our students are not competitors.
  2. To avoid wrong division registrations, some academies have a professional grade scale, to confirm weight and help students complete the registration form with accurate information. And with parents’ permission, complete the registration process paying using the same card used to charge the academy tuition.
  3. Read the uniforms rules and double check all Gis and No Gi uniforms. You will be surprised by how many students need a new uniform. It is time to review and maybe renew your uniform’s stock. If you need a trusted provider, contact our vendors.
  4. The software allows Competitors, parents and coaches to make changes by themselves until registration is closed. After that you still have 24 hours to email pridebjjt@gmail.com. No changes at the event.
  5. Photo ID is extremely necessary to show, during check in and to the Scorekeeper Table. This prevents sandbagging especially in the youth categories.
  6. Choose a day at the academy to explain about the BJJ RULES, especially points, penalties and the advantage system. We follow IBJJF rules.
  7. Make sure that all students signed up under the same academy name. The software recognizes SuperMan BJJ, SuperMan Jiu Jitsu and SuperMan MMA as a different academy. And this mistake may cause your student to fight against another one of your students, and not count the winner’s points together as a team.
  8. If any of your students need special attention, please let us know. pridebjjt@gmail.com
  9. Coaches will have a designated chair between barricades and the fight area, but they are not allowed to be on the Scorekeeper Table side.
  10. During the event, our staff will be 100% ready to answer questions and try to equalize situations.
